Belvianes et Cavirac –
Belvianes et Cavirac is on the banks of the river Aude in the department of Aude, South West France at the foot of the Pyrenean mountains between Carcassonne and Perpignan.
Coming out of the Pierre-Lys gorge, the river Aude separates Belvianes (on the left bank) from Cavirac (on the right bank). Belvianes and Cavirac's names are believed to have a Gallo-Roman origin, possibly related to a Roman family called "Balbius". It is known that Belvianes and Cavirac came under the control of the King of France at the end of the 14th century.
